This Montana backcountry brand is breaking into the ski scene with an all-new backpack

Based in Bozeman, Montana, Stone Glacier has been making rugged gear for adventurous outdoor enthusiasts since 2012. While they’ve been primarily focused in the hunting segment, Stone Glacier’s employees are also big fans of sliding on snow and wanted to create a pack that can be used for backcountry ski missions in the Bridgers, Gallatins and beyond. Thus, the Avail 2200 was born, boasting all the features needed for a day in the backcountry.

The spacious main compartment features organization sleeves for your shovel handle and probe, as well as pockets for extra goggles, snacks and tools. On the exterior of the 22-liter Avail pack, you’ll find an extra accessory pocket and compression straps for an a-frame ski carry, ice tools, and tripod. Like we said, versatility. But what’s more, is comfort. The thick, padded shoulder straps and hip belt have a decidedly ergonomic feel that hugs the contours of the body and allow effortless movement through the mountains. If you’re looking for your next touring pack, the Avail 2200 is certainly worth your consideration.
